"Private collection" is easily Cliff's best-selling album
containing Cliff's hits from the period 1979 - 1988.

"Always guaranteed" is Cliff's best-selling studio
album. This Alan Tarney produced album contained: "My
pretty one"
(No.6), "Some people" (No.3) and two
other hits: "Remember me" and "Two hearts".

"From a Distance - The Event" was a live
recording of Cliff's two Wembley Stadium concerts in
June 1989, when Cliff played to 144,000 people.

6 of Cliff's Top 10 biggest-selling albums (including
"The Event") are 'hits compilations'. Of the studio
albums in the Top 10, three were produced by Alan
Tarney: "Always guaranteed" (No.2), "Stronger"
(No.4) and "Wired for sound" (No.8).

"The album" (No.10), co-produced by Cliff and Paul
Moessl, was Cliff's 7th chart-topping album in 1993.
Platinum. It spawned a 'record' Five Cliff hit singles!!

"The whole story - His greatest hits" covering
Cliff's hits 1958 - 1999 went Platinum in 2000.

"Cliff At Christmas" Cliff's Christmas album
achieved a Platinum Disc in 2003.

Two of these best-selling Cliff albums: "The Cliff Richard Story" (1976) and "The Best of Cliff Richard and the Shadows" (1987) were Mail Order albums. Despite, no
chart positions, both attained Gold Discs.

"Something's Goin' On" Cliff's latest album of new material
recorded in Nashville, achieved a Gold Disc in 2004
and received high acclaim from the music industry.
One Top 10 single and two more just outside Top 10.

"The Platinum collection" (2005) containing Cliff's hits
from the period 1958 - 2005 achieved a Gold Disc.

"Two's company - The Duets" containing old and new
Cliff duets achieved a Gold Disc in 2006.

"Love...The Album" (2007) a collection of 10 classic Cliff
love songs and 5 new tracks has achieved a Gold Disc.

To celebrate Cliff's 50 years in music EMI released the double disc
album "50th anniversary album" which contained 50 of his
biggest hits. It was a Gold Disc winner in 2008.

In 2009 Cliff and The Shadows celebrated their 50th anniversary
with the album "Reunited" which went to No.4 in the UK album
chart and sold a Gold Disc.

Platinum=300,000 sales, Gold=100,000 sales, Silver=60,000.

While there is no actual award for 200,000 sales, 'Double Gold' term
is used regularly by: The music media, the general press, record companies and recording artists to confirm that the record
has indeed sold 200,000.
