Cliff's 14 chart-topping singles have spent
45 weeks at No.1 in total. This is third only to:
Elvis Presley (80 weeks) and The Beatles (69 weeks).

"The young ones" crashed into the chart at
No.1 in just two days. It had sales of over 524,000!
It had advance orders of over one million. It was the FIRST record
by a British artist to enter the chart at No.1. It toppled "Moon River" by Danny Williams and spent six weeks at the top of the chart from January through to February 1962.
The single is Cliff's biggest selling single in the U.K. It topped the charts in 15 countries around the world.

In December 1999 "The Millennium Prayer" entered at No.2 and rose to depose "King of my castle" by Wandue Project. After three weeks at the top, it missed out being the year's Christmas No.1 by Westlife and "I have a dream/Seasons in the sun".

Cliff's 100th single release "The best of me" entered at No.2 in June 1989 the same week that Jason Donovan entered at 1 with "Sealed with a kiss". They both had two weeks in the same positions.

2006 saw Cliff blast into No.2 with "21st century Christmas/Move it" behind Take That and "Patience". Based on physical sales alone that week Cliff was No.1 but Take That beat Cliff with a higher number of downloads.

To celebrate 50 years in music Cliff released "Thank you for a lifetime" in September 2008 aimed at No.1. It crashed in at No.3 and Cliff sold more physical singles than anyone else in the chart!

In March 1986 Cliff entered at No.4 with The Young Ones comedy group and a re-make of "Living doll". It spent three weeks at the top in April before being toppled by "A different corner" by George Michael.

Cliff Richard has entered the UK Top 10 singles chart in the
first week 16 times and the Top 20 an incredible 34 times.
