Did you know?...that The young ones crashed into the chart at No.1 in just two days. It had sales of over 524,000! It had advance orders of over one million. It was the FIRST record by a British artist to enter the chart at No.1. The single is Cliff's biggest selling single in the U.K. It topped the charts in 15 countries around the world.

As well as being voted the Top British Male Singer for the third year running, in 1963 Cliff was voted the World's Outstanding Singer in the the New Musical Express Pop Poll, beating Elvis Presley.

In 1968 Congratulations came second in the Eurovision Song Contest. It topped the charts in twenty countries around the world and sold nearly 2.5 million copies.

Cliff was the Second Most successful act of the 1960's to Elvis Presley. Based on weeks on singles chart alone, Cliff had 537 weeks to Elvis' 444 weeks. The Beatles had 334 weeks.

Based on album weeks: Elvis had 462 weeks, Cliff had 337 weeks and the Beatles: 435 weeks. Overall Total Ratings gives these placings for the Top Acts of the Sixties: 1. Elvis-182%. 2. Cliff-172%. 3. The Beatles-156%.
